Launch of UNESCO Report: Towards a Human-Centered Scientific Culture in the Arab World

To share the findings and recommendations of the UNESCO Report ‘Towards a Human-centered Scientific Culture in the Arab World: From Crisis-Driven Science to Visionary Renewal’ authored by AGYA alumnus and UNESCO advisor for the Arab region, Dr. Amro Ali, the launch event is jointly organized by UNESCO, Nile University and AGYA.

In a time marked by the legacies of the COVID-19 pandemic and the rise of artificial intelligence, the report reimagines the role of science not merely as a driver of technology but as a force that strengthens citizenship, imagination, and solidarity. The launch will bring together policymakers, researchers, educators, and students to discuss the report’s key findings, share successful models of Arab-Arab scientific collaboration, and reflect on how to foster a scientific culture that connects with people’s everyday lives.

Through panel discussions and open dialogue, participants will explore pathways to bridge the gap between science and society, address mobility restrictions that hinder collaboration, and amplify youth voices in shaping the future of research culture.
