Workshop: Climate Smart Agriculture for Women and Youth Empowerment
The northern Tunisian region of Takelsa is notable for its innovative approach to agriculture, particularly in olive farming and sustainable agricultural practices. This area, part of the Cap Bon Peninsula, benefits from a Mediterranean climate, which is ideal for growing grapes, olives, and other crops. Farmers in Takelsa are increasingly adopting sustainable methods such as crop rotation, organic farming, and water-efficient irrigation systems. These innovations are key to addressing the challenges of climate change and ensuring long-term agricultural productivity in the region.
Recognizing the urgency of empowering women and youth in agriculture and highlighting the sector's potential as a job creator, the project partners are realizing this workshop. The vent features speakers and participants from Germany and various Arab countries, including local women farmers, young agriculture entrepreneurs, and extension services, who will share their experiences and insights.
