Mentoring Program: AIM 2.0 for Sudanese Researchers

The Academic Inspiration & Mentoring Programme (AIM 2.0) is designed to uplift and empower emerging Sudanese researchers. Created for those whose academic paths are currently disrupted by the ongoing conflict in Sudan—which has halted many institutions and displaced countless scholars—this programme provides essential support, guidance, and mentorship.

Over six weeks, a selected group of around 40 participants join a series of virtual training and mentoring sessions. Thoughtfully crafted, AIM 2.0 goes beyond conventional support by delivering targeted career insights and robust coaching to help scholars build resilient and sustainable research careers.

Through dynamic interactions and spirited discussions, AIM 2.0 cultivates an inspiring environment where ideas thrive and new research paths unfold. The programme also acts as an exceptional platform for international and interdisciplinary networking, allowing participants to connect with peers from diverse academic fields and form invaluable relationships that extend far beyond the programme itself.

The programme is part of an AGYA tandem project by Prof. Dr Ahmed Siddig, University of Khartoum & Harvard University and Dr. Franzska Lissel, Hamburg University of Technology & Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research, Germany.
