AGYA at Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2025

AGYA at Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2025

AGYA joined the 34th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) in 2025 and presented a curated selection of its publications at the German Booth. The highlighted publications reflected AGYA’s interdisciplinary research at the intersection of the humanities and social sciences, with a particular focus on Tangible Urban Heritage, Medieval Stories for Young Readers, Musicology and Digitization, Graphic Narratives about Pandemics, Humanities in the 21st Century, and Elephantine – a Cosmopolitan Society in Antiquity. The selected new and recent publications from AGYA members and alumni/ae represented AGYA’s diversity of interdisciplinary research to a larger audience.

Engaging with German Diplomatic Leadership

Within the framework of the fair, AGYA alumna Henda Mahmoudi represented AGYA in a high-level exchange with Christoph Klarmann, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Federal Republic of Germany. The meeting provided an opportunity to present AGYA’s mission, its diverse activities, and its role in strengthening long-term academic cooperation and dialogue across regions. Emphasis was placed on fostering scholarly networks, knowledge transfer, and sustainable collaboration between research communities in Germany and the UAE.
