Water – Green Power, Basic Right, and Cultural Bridge
Interdisciplinary Lab
Water is one of our planet's most precious resources; yet the water sector faces interconnected challenges: climate change alters precipitation patterns and increases extreme weather events, while pollution degrades available supplies, leading to health issues and strained infrastructure. These pressures create urgent needs for both scientific analysis and policy solutions. How can societies balance ecosystem preservation with growing human demands? How can we ensure equitable and resilient access for all? How do water-related cultural traditions and knowledge systems foster mutual understanding between societies and contribute to sustainability approaches?
This breakthrough forum creates a platform for leading scholars from UoK and AGYA to present their research on water through intersected lenses: marine conservation, hydropower, wastewater treatment, legal frameworks, governance models, traditional knowledge systems, and shared heritage across societies.
A dynamic ‘3 Minutes, 3 Slides!’ format followed by Q&A sessions weaves together technical, legal, and cultural perspectives. This interactive structure not only showcases the diversity of expertise but also sparks dialogue, fosters connections, and lays the groundwork for meaningful research cooperation.

Interdisciplinary Labs: Sharing ideas and shifting perspectives for knowledge co-creation
Interdisciplinary Labs are interactive workshops where scholars and students as well as contributors from beyond academia explore real-word problems that require integrated perspectives. The goal is to initiate a creative dialogue across disciplinary and geographical borders along thought-provoking research questions and target-driven case-studies. The labs help navigate the challenges of interdisciplinary collaboration by their inclusive and hands-on environment that invites the participants to share and shift perspectives and to jointly develop innovative approaches towards complex issues. Encouraging curiosity, active participation, and equal contribution, the labs offer an immersive experience to foster new forms of knowledge co-creation and plant the seed for future research collaboration.
