About me

Every academic discipline offers its own beauty and approach to exploring the world, should we choose to listen.

As an AGYA member, I had the great chance to work together with enthusiastic experts from various fields and countries. Unforgotten are the discussions with my AGYA fellows: it is incredibly enriching to examine the current needs of societies with historians or to debate the role of technology in our time with sociologists. This experience gets further enhanced in a community with such a wide range of expertise on local opportunities and challenges in Germany and the Arab world.

During my time as co-president of AGYA, I gladly helped to push the academy forward and share its word and impact. AGYA helped me to stem a fascinating project together with a prestigious Arab member. We tightly worked on the vision of smart nanorobots, addressing up-to-date questions from the viewpoint of a chemist and a computer scientist. This exciting project led to several distinguished publications and a happy graduated PhD candidate. AGYA is an incredible community that builds bridges across cultures, disciplines and societies.

My Commitment to AGYA
Acting Alumni Co-Speaker
Former AGYA Co-President 2016
Former Member of the AGYA Steering Committee 2015-2016
Former Member in Charge of the Working Group 'Innovation' 2014-2019
Selection Committee “New AGYA Members” 2015-2017

My advice to future AGYA members:

Participate in as many exciting AGYA activities as possible! In my experience, all AGYA members have a tremendous wealth of knowledge and great stories to tell. So take the time outside of conferences and training sessions to get to know each other.
