Reconfiguring Knowledge Production in the Arab World and Germany
Internal Workshop
The AGYA Working Group Dynamics of Transformation will convene for a three-day meeting at Leipzig University, bringing together its members for an intensive programme of collaborative work. The meeting forms part of the working group's wider research agenda, leading to a joint publication on knowledge production across the Arab world and Germany. It pursues three core objectives: refining the group's conceptual framework, research questions, and analytical focus; building shared methodological capacity; and developing a concrete work plan with timelines, responsibilities, and a publication strategy.
Methodological Training: Case Study Design
A central element of the meeting is an intensive methodological training led by Siddharth Wadehra, Senior Case Writer at the College of Public Policy, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (Qatar). An expert in case methodology and author of the forthcoming Mastering the Case: The Art and Science of Crafting Award-Winning Case Studies, Wadehra will guide participants through case research design and writing across four dedicated sessions spanning all three days.
Case methodology is increasingly integrated into teaching at leading universities worldwide as a form of experiential learning anchored in real-world contexts. The training aims to ensure coherence and comparability across the working group's interdisciplinary and cross-national contributions, providing a shared methodological foundation for the joint publication. Follow-up online consultations will provide additional support as participants finalise their individual case studies.
