About me

I currently conduct research as a recipient of the Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (2025-2027) in the Department of Arabic Studies at the Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg in Bamberg, Germany. In collaboration with German and Arab colleagues, my research project ‘Who Am I? A Cultural Exploration of the (De/Re)Construction of the Egyptian Self and Identity Across Media in the Age of Artificial Intelligence’ examines how emerging technologies shape and redefine expressions of identity and selfhood in contemporary Egyptian culture.

My research naturally aligns with AGYA’s mission as it involves interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers across various cultural backgrounds and academic fields, namely Arabic Studies, Comparative Studies, Media Studies, Visual Studies, Cultural Studies, Digital Humanities, and Artificial Intelligence. I believe in the value of cross-border academic exchange and I see my AGYA membership as an invaluable opportunity.

As a member of AGYA, I can further enrich my work and explore the possibilities of invention and transformation that result from engaging with minds and voices beyond my familiar realms.
