Joseph Shenekji
About me
I am a lecturer in Biotechnology Engineering and Health Sciences at the University of Aleppo, Syria, and a researcher working at the intersection of biotechnology, health, sustainability, and innovation. My research focuses on frugal biotechnology for low-resource settings, including low-cost molecular diagnostics, enzyme production, bioinformatics, green biotechnology, and environmentally sustainable technologies. I am particularly interested in developing practical scientific solutions that can be implemented locally despite limited infrastructure and resources.
As an AGYA member, I can build meaningful Arab-German interdisciplinary collaborations, strengthen my international research network, and develop joint projects that connect science with societal needs.
I contribute my experience in biotechnology under resource constraints, youth capacity building, scientific communication, and community engagement to the AGYA community. Through AGYA, I hope to expand the impact of my research, learn from international peers, and help create opportunities for young researchers, especially in the Arab region.
