Daniel Bäcker
About me
I am a Research Assistant in the Department of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry at the Institute of Pharmacy at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany.
My research is at the interface of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Analysis. On the one hand, I aim to contribute to the design of new drug candidates, particularly those with antibacterial and antitumor activity. I am also interested in the role of introducing fluorine into drug molecules and its effect on the biological activity. I am also very interested in the establishment of atomic respectively molecular absorption spectrometry (AAS/MAS) as a complementary analytical technique for different applications in pharmaceutical research.
My goal for my AGYA membership is to serve as a link between various natural and life sciences.
Drawing on my diverse international experiences, I aim to address cross-border medical challenges, such as the development of drug resistance, through collaboration among AGYA members.
