About me

I am an Associate Professor of Psychology at Zayed University in Abu Dhabi. I obtained my doctoral degree (Ph.D.) at Goethe University Frankfurt/Main, Germany. My research focuses on autobiographical memory and narrative identity development in different cultures.  Living in the UAE, I explore identity in the Arab world, examining how life stories, normative life course conceptions, and collective memory are conveyed within the Emirati population. I aim to deepen our understanding of how personal narratives shape individual and collective identities.

AGYA’s dedication to supporting German-Arab research collaborations resonates with my research, and I see great potential in contributing to and benefiting from AGYA’s dynamic network.

My research aligns with AGYA's interdisciplinary focus on heritage, identity, and fostering connections with the Arab world. I maintain active international collaborations and look forward to helping advance AGYA’s mission and visibility worldwide.
