Alaa Hammad
About me
I am a Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan. My research focuses on neuropharmacology, neuroinflammation, neuroprotection, and drug discovery, with particular emphasis on the neurobiological effects of nicotine, e-cigarettes, tobacco products, and other drugs of abuse. I investigate glutamatergic neurotransmission, oxidative stress, inflammatory pathways, and behavioural changes, while exploring existing and natural compounds as potential therapeutic interventions. I am also interested in clinical pharmacy, pharmacy education, and evidence-based practice.
Within AGYA, I can collaborate with outstanding Arab and German researchers, develop interdisciplinary research projects addressing health challenges in the region, and contribute my expertise in experimental therapeutics and pharmaceutical sciences.
AGYA provides an excellent platform for scientific exchange, joint research, mentorship, and translating research findings into meaningful health and societal impact.
