Who benefits from smart mobility policies; and who decides about them? How do we collect and manage the massive amount of data for smart mobility and how do we ensure privacy? Given that big data has originally been conceptualized as a common good, AGYA members together with external experts from various disciplines will discuss the governance of smart mobility data in an international workshop at Reiner Lemoine Institute (RLI) and EUREF-Campus, Berlin, Germany from 25 to 26 July, tackling questions of data governance and justice, innovation trends in smart cities, technical infrastructure, and most notably the role of ethics.

Secrets and secrecy are key features in late-antique, Byzantine, and early Islamic literature. They can manifest as hidden knowledge or sanctity, as disguise or the veiling of intentions, as a physical and metaphorical absence, as the creation of new identities or even as alternative modes of existence. An international conference organised by AGYA members Anis Ben Amor and Konstantin Klein investigates the role of secrets and secrecy in a diachronic and interdisciplinary way.
