About me

As musicologist I am currently working as research assistant (PostDoc) at the University of the Arts Berlin (50%) and as head of the Berlin office of the Bernd Alois Zimmermann-Gesamtausgabe (complete critical edition of the compositions, writings and letters (selection)). I wrote a PhD about the connection of musical life and return migration to Germany after 1945 (Wiederaufnahme? Rückkehr aus dem Exil und das westdeutsche Musikleben nach 1945, München 2014). In general, music and migration is one of my main research subjects, within this field together with colleagues I published a collection of letters of the German Jewish composer and musicologist Brigitte Schiffer, who emigrated to Egypt in 1935 and played an important role in Cairo’s musical life for almost 30 years. My other main research topics are: critical edition and philology of electronic and recorded music (PostDoc project), German music history after 1945, the history and aesthetics of Electronic Dance Music.
