Workshop: Images of Female Legal Professionals in Popular Culture: A Transnational Comparison
The workshop addresses topics on images of female legal professionals in popular culture from stereotypical portrayals to plots and characters conveying messages of socio-political critique. The participants will provide perspectives from those regions not commonly recognized as creators of globally consumed media productions.
By bringing together scholars of different backgrounds including media & communication studies as well as sociology and Islamic & Arabic studies, who jointly explore the common and socially relevant theme of how we view and think about law, gender, and the judiciary.
