Call for Applications: Surmounting the COVID-19 Pandemic through Art and Comedy

AGYA Idea Contest

The AGYA working groups Arab and German Education and Health and Society are seeking for students between 16 and 24 years of age, who are eager to share their ideas for promoting either education or health during the ongoing challenges and difficulties caused by the pandemic? The students can submit their solutions in form of art (e.g. comic, animation, video etc.) or any other form that can be presented digitally. They can either work individually or in a group of up to three people.

What we are looking for: innovative ideas promoting the health of children and their families in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Examples include but are not limited to:

  • Ways to address the unmet needs of people affected by the pandemic (for example, stable housing, access to medical care);
  • Promote community support (for example, crisis counseling for individuals who contracted or lost someone to COVID-19);
  • Address feelings of loneliness due to social isolation.

All submissions should be suitable for printable or digital dissemination. The students can submit your idea in form of art – including comics, motion graphics, videos, animations – or any other form of product that fits the criteria. They could also opt for an awareness campaign or proposing an app that promotes peer-to-peer counselling and support. They can even add a pinch of humor to your idea.

The Call for Applications is open until 15 October 2022.
