Training Workshop ‘How to Integrate Interdisciplinary Courses in Arab and German Universities’
28 Aug - 01 Sep 2019
Interdisciplinary course curricula offer students the possibility to work with knowledge drawn from a variety of disciplines. Since the university curriculum is commonly structured by a rigid departmental infrastructure and complex administrative systems, interdisciplinary course curricula are an ambitious endeavor for colleges and universities. However, given the complex global challenges, research cooperation across disciplines is more crucial than ever. An interdisciplinary approach to higher education gives instructors and students a chance to tackle common problems in the society from different perspectives, to find innovative solutions and better prepare students to find and create their own jobs.
The AGYA training workshop ‘How to Integrate Interdisciplinary Courses in Arab and German Universities’ aims at introducing the concept of interdisciplinary courses in higher education to university professors to overcome disciplinary boundaries and to widen their scope of teaching methods. The training workshop will take place from 28 August to 01 September 2019 in Amman, Jordan and will bring together experts from Arab countries and Germany.
The workshop is a project of the AGYA Working Group Arab and German Education.
