About me

Currently I am Professor for Prehistoric Archaeology at the University of Tübingen. Next to my extensive work on several archaeological campaigns in Syria, I devoted a great personal energy in caring for and protecting the archaeological sites and cultural heritage in war-torn Syria during the last three years.

In a time when Archaeological sites are under great threat, we have to devote our attention to projects of restoration and preservation. With my membership in the AGYA I hope to enlarge the idea of collaboration in the field of Archaeology and make the scientific and public community aware of the danger our cultural heritage is posed today, in Syria and other Arab countries.
